Russian Roulette scene - "Silencio en la Nieve" (2011)
Already facing terrible odds, some Axis soldiers choose to gamble on their lives.
Powerful scene from Spanish war drama / crime thriller, "Silencio en la Nieve" (2011), set somewhere in the Eastern Front in 1943.

Game of Thrones - War Stories

King Robert, Ser Barristan Selmy and Ser Jaime Lannister sharing war stories. One of my favorite scenes in the show. All rights to this clip belong to HBO.
Never let a revolution go to waste. The lannisters certainly didn’t.
“Burn them all” the delivery from Jaime and the look in Roberts face is SO fucking good
yesss I got chills lol
This scene is amazing, the subtle facial expression change by Robert when Jaime told him what the Mad King said. It’s conveyed so much with so little. Just a glimpse into how crazy the Mad King was.
Robert was a verbal savage.
Robert is the guy I felt sorry for the most in the show. He wasn’t a pleasant man but he was not evil. Just a sad depressed man that won his war in his prime. Once there was no one else to fight he was lost. Was born to lead on a battlefield. And the best ending he could have asked for was dying there. But he had to carry on leading people through politics. While the battle of politics is an Alien concept to him. He was use to enemy on the battlefield showing respect and true intentions. While on the Kings council he had to learn which one of his allies would stab him in the back when the time came.
"Kingslayer! Get in here!" You could tell that Robert was pleased by that😂
Was this scene in the book?
nope
Brilliant acting 👏
This is proof that they do have writing ability, since this scene is absent from the books, but they just didn't feel like it for the last 2 seasons
Jaime had so much respect for Selmy, you could see it in that little nod as he left
The guy that played Robert is such a good actor
Who was your first kill not counting old men ?
I think what makes this show great is it really delves deep into the humanity behind the stories of the fantastical. Great battles and weddings and kings and knights, they’re just stories highlighting the interesting bits, but it’s the aftermath of those stories that we never hear about. The so called “happily ever after, the end”. We come to find out happily ever after doesn’t always mean what we think it does, and those who are dubbed as “greater men and women” are just as flawed as the rest of us. Great show, great acting.
He said the same thing he’d been saying for HOURS….. “Burn them ALL”….. one of the most chilling lines in all of GOT.
D&D… gods what a shtewpid name
Man the writing was insanely good in the earlier seasons…
Jamie as Azor Ahai would have been a much better ending imo, we’ve all seen that Reddit post right? “As Jamie gets between Bran and the night king, laughing, he says “do you know what they call me ?” 🥶
The Dutch had the richest company in history worth trillions of dollars look it up
I just finished watching a clip of the battle of winterfell from season 8. Then I watched this clip. I wonder how alive Robert would have felt in a battle like that.
Imagine being a kings guard and having to listen to this bullshit everyday and sober.
King Robert is a complete douchebag in the show. He's not that way in the books
This is peak asf
Poor Lancel 🤣🤣
The Dutch were the first colonists of NY, NJ, and PA. They even gave refuge to the Pilgrims, the ancestors of many New England colonists as the time.
He remembers every face of every kill but he can't remember what Lyanna looked like... what does that tell you
I love good banter. I hate these people
Relatable. Love this guy
Gods i was strong then. Cant wait to.get back in shape
Were sharing stories while we wait for the cringe people to leace us alone.
😂❤
It's the talking scenes like this that make or break it.
The subtle zoom on Barriston as Robert describes his first kill with his Warhammer. His expression. Barriston loved Rhaegar and was brought back to being wounded at the Trident, helplessly watching Robert kill Rhaegar. The greatest king who never was and his friend.
The mutual respect between Ser Barriston and Ser Jamie is soo wholesome. The respect that jamie craved for . .....
Nice job ruining the mood, Kingslayer
I love how Robert wants details about the violence, while Jamie and Barrister prefer to "talk shop" to each-other about the finer points of swordsmanship. They really come as profesionals, contrasting Robert's "bar-room brawler" vibe.
Still dont know how was it possible to fuck up season 8 so badly.
"Is that what empty means?"... LOL
So get more!!
"He said the same thing he said for hours ... "burn them all"". Both in book and show that line HITS especially if its your first time reading. "Burn them in their homes, burn them in the streets, BURN THEM ALL ... I dont think he thought he'd truly die ... He thought he would rise from the ashes ..." (im paraphrasing the magnificent quote).
The Dutch bankers were the richest in the world on the 18th century. A lot of war were made possible with dutch money. In the 17th century we the Dutch were for about 50 years a regional world superpower.
Despite being the ultimate victor, Robert always had an air of trauma about him - drinking to dull the visions of slain faces and memories of past wars. He obviously takes some measure of pride, like remembering his past strength, but then, you're reminded of where that strength leads, all the way down to pleading cries and pant-shitting.
Oof the look on jaime's face when Barristan Selmy chuckles at his joke. He really looked up to him.
I like to imagine that Roberts already told this story to Barristan a hundred times and has asked Barristan about his first kill a hundred times.
I kind of find it hard to believe that Robert didn't make his first kill until he was in the middle of the rebellion.
GODS THE WRITING WAS GOOD BAXK THEN
The moment you realised Kingsguards were basically over glorified elderly care. Robert is painting a very jaundiced and unfair assessment of the past, while sharing all this stuff (about pissing in a bowl three times a day) and the Kingsguard are likely thinking "I don't need to be hearing about this."
this 4.5 minute scene beats the entirety of season 8
Wonder what would be Robert’s reaction if Jaime told him the whole story just like he told to Brienne.
"Gods guion was strong then"
It's interesting that in a later season Jaime tried the same thing the Tarly boy in this story did, and in that fight both of the Tarlys were with him.
A lot of people give Tyrion credit for his wit, but this scene shows Jaime's wit as he subtly insults Robert by comparing him to The Mad King
